ONGOING RESEARCH

Please help with this vital chance to research distribution of major tick vectors and prevalence of tick-borne pathogens around the U.S.!
For the entire year of 2016 the Bay Area Lyme Foundation of California will offer free testing to assist individuals with identifying whether ticks, attached or simply collected, are infected with a number of vector-borne pathogens. This study is currently testing for 6 pathogens, including Borrelia burgdorferi (which causes Lyme disease); Ehrlichia chafeensis (causes Ehrlichiosis), and Rickettsia rickettsii (the agent of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever). For more information and to print-out the tick submission form, go to http://www.bayarealyme.org/lyme-disease-prevention/tick-testing/
